From Week 1

This is a Maya tutorial. This tutorial talks about basic modeling and short cut controls. It shows how to navigate through perspective view and how to shape primitive objects. It shows the shortcuts to how to view a shape in wireframe mode, shaded form and unshaded form and shows the option of having the polycount display. Also, how to make custom shelf as well as how to add more to subdivision width, height, and depth and how to switch from Object mode to Edge, Vertex, and Face modes.

This tutorial here is of a basic walking motion using 24 looping frames. This video was very informative and it also shows how complex animation can be even with basic movement such as walking. The video also refers viewers to check out CreativeCrash.com, which is a website for 3D and animation.

This next clip is more of an inspirational video. I've always said that as superior as heavyweights like Disney and Pixar are sometimes I don't always want to see cute 3D animals talking. Sometimes I wish there were more 3D animated movies with real life characters. And this is why Resident Evil Degeneration is one of my favorites. Not only because of the 3D but because it also includes one of my other favorite genres: zombies. In my opinion it was a well animated film.

The first assignment for Digital Imaging I class was to design something of my choice in Photoshop, 23x40 pixels at 4dpi in size. My design choice was from 1980's Castlevania NES game.

My design enlarged since the original design is very small.

Cemetery Project

Final project for Game Design II class. Done in Photoshop.

Part I of the final project was to design an image concept based on a proposed video game. My concept was of a game based on a haunted town and this scene would be from the town cemetery.

This is the original picture I took at the infamous Resurrection Cemetery...

... transformed into the Haunted Cemetery

Part II of the project was to design 2 sample textures based on the type of texture materials I would use when texturing the scene designed in 3D.
